Positively Me- A Postive Mental Health Workshop

Would you like your son/daughter to be more comfortable talking about he/she feels?

Would you like him/her to learn some coping skills?

This workshop will explore what mental health is and how we can maintain it, what is self care and what happens when we are missing it. We will explore  how our brain functions and how this impacts on our thought process. It will include useful tools such as breath work, relaxation skills and meditation strategies all in a fun and safe environment using the creative elements of art, music and group discussion.

AIMS- to engage young people in an open discussion about mental and emotional health increasing their awareness and reducing stigma. To equip young people with tools and knowledge for managing healthy mental and emotional health and recognising it’s ok not to be perfect!

Help Your Child Make the Transition from Primary to Secondary School During Covid 19

3 DAY WORKSHOP

Have a young person making the move from 6th class to secondary school this year?? Worried how he/she will cope having missed the last term of school in primary with little preparation for the next phase of their education?? This year more than ever our children will need supports entering secondary school. Melissa has been successfully delivering this workshop for the last number of years with positive outcomes and parental feedback

Suitable for mainstream school pupils

Topics Covered– managing change, friendships, anxious thoughts/anxiety tools, impact of our brain on emotions, positive mindsets, practical issues, relaxation, coping skills  and meditation in a fun and creative environment of peer support, art and crafts, games, music and relaxation

 

Workshop 1– Monday 10th to Wednesday 12th August

10.30am to 12.30pm

 Workshop 2– Monday 10th to Wednesday 12th August

1.30pm to 3.30pm

Venue- The Courthouse, Main Street, Duleek, Meath

Workshop 2 will proceed if there is sufficient demand.

 

All of Melissa’s workshops are designed to be fun, creative, experiential and memorable using the mediums of art and craft, movement, games and group discussion. Research has proven that when you interact and experience activities you are more likely to remember it and implement what you have learned. Past participants also noted how beneficial it has been being able to share experiences and ideas with their peers. If circumstances change regarding Covid 19 the workshop will move online.
